THE FILM
THE TEAM
Dean Ferreira
Independent film director, Dean Ferreira, began his career as a stage actor, where his love of acting and the arts was born. While his other passion was always writing, it was limited to non-published stories until a few years ago, where his passion of writing took center stage. Dean wrote and directed his first short film, “At Your Command” and was immediately hooked. His writing and directing credits also include, “Geek Away, Excalibur Enhancements” and the web series, “IguanaMan.” “Off The Beaten Path” is Dean’s first non-writing directorial short film. Dean is currently writing a new screenplay that will be filmed in Greenville, SC in 2016.
Wofford Jones
Wofford Jones started his career in the entertainment business in the late ’90’s, quickly catching the acting bug, winning a Greenville Little Theatre Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy as Tony Kirby in You Can’t Take It With You. He is also winner of a Johanne Woodward Award for Best Supporting Lead in a Drama as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and a Dove Award for Best Solo Performance in a PSA. Transitioning to behind-the-scenes duties for Third Mind Films and other upstate film companies, Wofford has tackled numerous positions including Director, Director of Photography, Writer, Art Director, Fight Choreographer, Set Dresser and Still Photographer.
Wofford’s love for writing is his true passion. He has written and co-written projects for Third Mind Films, including “Off the Beaten Path,” “Christmas Eve at Lodge 20,” “Halloween Night at Lodge 20,” “Rev. McGee” for Third Mind Thursday, and “Turned Tables,” produced by It’s A Living Productions. He has also co-written several theatre one-acts with fellow writer/actor and friend Jason Underwood for Greenville Little Theatre’s Studio 444 and the 24 Hour Play Festival, winning awards for Audience Favorite Play, The Tennessee Williams Award for Best Play and The Best Use of Theme Award. He most recently finished writing a novel entitled Soul Dreams with plans for release later in 2016. Wofford is busy writing on his second novel, Blood Ties, as well as a collection of short stories. Stay tuned…there is more to come from this guy.
Chris Cashon
Chris’s passion for creating finds its origins at the young age of 8 behind a piano, playing the classics while creating unique twists and custom tunes, catching the bug for acting and film-making a few years later while working for Disney. Since leaving, he has been in numerous plays, commercial, short films, and features, both in front of and behind the camera, including Doug Livingston in Second Chance, Paul Bratter in Barefoot in the Park, and Tim Allgood in Noises Off. He also played Brody in the independent thriller “Encounter“, and IguanaMan in the web series “IguanaMan.” While passion for detail led him to dabble behind the scenes and serving various roles, including writer, director of photography, lighting designer, and web designer, his desire to bring characters to life always remains closest to his heart.
Bethanne Pistolis
Bethanne Pistolis began acting at the ripe age of 28 living in upstate South Carolina. She has done theater, film, radio and print. Passt favorites include: “A Short History of Decay” (Nurse Theresa), “What Lurks Inside” (Clarissa Campbell), and “Off the Grid: Story of Sacred Valley” (Heidi). In real life, Bethanne is a mom to two beautiful girls, a wife and a makeup artist, including makeup and SFX for “Off the Beaten Path” and “IguanaMan.”
David Bean
